Jim Spiers
-President
Jim Spiers has been teaching swimming for 25 years, and established
the current SwimJim's swimming program and teaching methodology
in collaboration with Leslie Crawford of the Aquanaut Swim School.
In 1990, he brought his unique teaching style to New York City and
served as Aquatics Director for Aerobics West Fitness Club until
he founded SwimJim, Inc. in 1998. SwimJim, Inc. has won numerous
awards from the USSSA. He has been featured in the New York Times, interviews on NPR, and has taught private lessons in the Hamptons, Westchester County and Paris, France. Jim was educated at the University of Texas (Austin)
and the University of Houston, and received his Infant-Toddler Certification
from the United States Swim School Association. Additionally Jim is a
member of the World Aquatic Baby Congress. In 2001, Jim spent more
than 2 weeks at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs
working with the world renowned stroke technician Bill Boomer and
Olympic gold medallists Catherine Fox and B.J. Bedford.
