Jim Spiers
Jim Spiers has been teaching swimming for 18 years, and established the current SwimJim swimming program and teaching methodology in collaboration with Leslie Crawford of the Aquanaut Swim School. In 1990, he brought his unique teaching style to New York City and served as Aquatics Director for Aerobics West Fitness Club until he founded SwimJim, Inc. in 1998. He has been featured in the New York Times (July 31, 1997), National Public Radio, and regularly has teaching assignments all over the world. Jim was educated at the University of Houston, and received his Infant-Toddler Certification from the National Swim School Association.

Michal Michalkow
Not content with teaching alone, Michal is also SwimJim's Pool Safety Director … First teaching in 1996, Michal Michalkow started his career as an instructor for the YMCA's Learn to Swim program. Jim Spiers later recruited him, and today is an integral part of the SwimJim, Inc. instruction and management team. In addition to teaching, Michal serves as SwimJim's Pool Safety director, and is changed with all lifeguard management, pool safety plans and fulfillment of Board of Health regulations. Michal has completed EMS training and is a licensed EMT.
